This week’s full moon was at its perigee – the time when it’s closest to the earth, and therefore appears largest.  As I walked to work it looked wonderful between the trees.

Tonight’s the night when the moon is at its perigee – the closest it comes to earth all year.  Because it’s also a full moon, it’s called a supermoon.

Although the sky was cloudy the moon could be seen quite clearly.  

 I thought it looked more dramatic through trees, but my camera automatically focussed on the leaves rather than the moon.  There’s likely to be higher tides than usual, but we’re not expecting werewolves. 

 “A full moon is a super sight
that’s coming closer in tonight.”
