Progress continues on the transitional Cardboard Cathedral.

Yesterday there were lots of wooden cradles lined up behind the fence in Lichfield Street.  I think they must be intended to fit over the cardboard tubes, and I’m waiting to see what happens.

There is ongoing debate about how the Cardboard Cathedral is to be funded.  I just want to see it finished and available for use.

“I can’t imagine how they’ll fit
but cradles must be part of it.”

Our temporary cathedral is finally starting to take shape.  Yesterday the first half of one wall’s frame was up.

Today you can see the outline of all that wall.

A man from Naylor Love was across the road sighting up some kind of instrument.  I wondered if he was checking to see if they’d got it straight. The building should be completed by February.

The site of the old St John’s Church is where the foundations for Cardboard Cathedral are now well under way.  This week a cardboard Christmas tree has been erected which mirrors the shape of the planned Cathedral – creative and effective!

New angels have appeared in the Christ Church Cathedral.

Raphael, Michael, and Gabriel are an attractive addition to the seasonal decorations and will appear every Advent and Christmas.  Have you been to see them?
