Melting Penguins

Melting Penguins

This mural on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Worcester Boulevard makes a statement about climate change.  By street artists, BMD, it shows penguins marching towards the edge of the ice, and melting as they go.  It was commissioned as part of the recent Ice Fest, which focussed on Antarctica.

“We need to combat climate change,
else all our world will re-arrange.”

Blue Boards

Last week when I walked past this wall at the corner of Cashel and High Streets there were just some blue folds painted there.

This week they’ve been covered with pictures by BMD, the pair whose work I admired in the Museum’s RISE exhibition.

The panel on the left is entitled ‘Anatomical Analysis’, and the one on the right is ‘Fox of Birds’.  You can see more of their wonderful works here.  We’re lucky to have them brightening up our city.
