Beat Street now has a licence, so we decided to go there for Sunday afternoon drinks with neighbours.  The ambiance has character, and it’s great to see vegetables and herbs being grown on site.

They sell boutique beers and ciders, with wine to come shortly.  The label on the Renaissance beers with it’s attractive “R” appealed to me, but the prices were such that we didn’t want to stay for a second round.  $12.50 for the cider and $14 for the beer,

We appreciated the political addition to this classic portrait.  If Len Brown’s getting this kind of attention way down here in Te Waipounamu I hate to think what it must be like in Tamaki Makaurau.
