Growing older is inconvenient
diminished energy
less ability
hearing fades
cataracts encroach on eyes
friends die or drift away
new ones hard to find
But there’s time to smell the roses
watch the birds
sit outside and soak up vitamin D
fewer responsibilities
opportunities for contemplation
Yes, growing older can be inconvenient
But it sure beats the alternative
Ruth's Reflections 
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed becoming, and being, older. I don’t mean the physical declines, but mentally and emotionally I’m in a great place and am happier within myself than I’ve been for a long time. I didn’t think I was unhappy before, but now that I can compare then and now, I realise how much happier within myself that I am now.
