Our plan this morning was to check the newly opened buildings at the Arts Centre and have coffee at Bunsen, which is the reincarnation of Le Cafe. Blithely we thought we’d park in the Armagh Street car park and stroll through the Botanic Gardens. So much for the best-laid plans. The Armagh Street car park was absolutely full, with many more cars coming out after a fruitless search for parking. There’s a three hour limit there, so presumably it’s short term people using it rather than full time workers. Never mind, we thought we’ll get a park somewhere nearby and pay the exorbitant meter fees. Fat chance! Not a space to be found anywhere. This was worse than when the Night Noodle markets were on. Is it Christmas shoppers, or is this how it always is on weekdays now?
I wanted to get some library books, as the Book Fridge is low on choice at present. We were lucky enough to get the last car park at the Peterborough Library.
I’ll be walking or taking my bike in future. Not an option for those with limited mobility. Here’s hoping ‘they’ soon provide an inner city shuttle bus.

and Bunsen’s coffee’s not for me.”
