Since the flats across the road were demolished we’ve enjoyed river views in two directions. We knew it couldn’t last, and this month there’s been progress on the new building with cranes busily positioning tilt slab walls.
Last night was Christmas in the Park, and I was already in bed when I heard the enticing boom of fireworks. In dressing gown and slippers I hurried out to watch. Sadly we can no longer view fireworks in Hagley Park from our front doorstep. We needed to hurry down the road to catch the lovely lights, which were just visible between trees. It will be good to have new neighbours, but I miss my unimpeded fireworks.
“For several years we had a view
of river and of fireworks too.”
