Kids were encouraged to draw their visions of future Christchurch on recycled paint cans during last weekend’s FESTA. The cans were painted blue, yellow, and white, with drawings on the white sections. They were then strung onto metal rods and assembled into a kinetic installation.
This is situated on the corner of Manchester and Armagh Streets, diagonally opposite the Margaret Mahy Family Playground. The idea is that you spin the cans to create a pattern. Another interesting addition to our streetscape.
“A different upcycling plan
to have the kids draw on a can.”
