Having a heat pump installed a couple of years ago meant that we had two electric heaters that are now redundant, and I wanted to find them a new home. I rang the City Mission, and found they don’t take any electrical goods more than ten years old. They suggested the Salvation Army, who told me their Addington Branch has facilities to check electrical goods and would accept heaters. We loaded them into the car along with some clothes, and boxes of Star Trek Videos. The Sallies politely refused the videos. Apparently no-one buys videos at their stores because so few people have VHS players. We took the videos home, where I unpacked and sorted them. We have over 80!
I thought I’d have a go at listing them on TradeMe, so if you know anyone who’s a Star Trek fan and has a VHS player, please tell them to check TradeMe (or leave me a comment here). This collection started when I won a series of Voyager videos in a “Press” competition. Stephen then started collecting Next Generation, and would often receive them as Xmas or birthday gifts.
