Changeable weather in Christchurch today. As we left home at 10 a.m. it was just starting to rain. We paid a hasty visit to the Farmers’ Market, then to the library. By the time we reached South City it was snowing – large snowflakes that didn’t settle.
When we came out of the Mall a short time later the sun was shining again, and we could feel its warmth. Now (just after midday) it’s raining again, with occasional snowflakes (snow flecks?) between raindrops. Definitely an afternoon for staying inside with a book.
“Some snowflakes don’t stay on the ground
because by raindrops they are drowned.”
Oooh, even in Auckland it’s nippy. Love the couplet; it made me smile. Hope you have a good book to read. I’m going to curl up with ‘H is for Hawk’.

I’m reading “The Little Paris Bookshop”, and suddenly the sun’s shining again.

I just took advantage of a dry moment to deliver something to the end of the road, and it is BITTER out there.

I haven’t even been brave enough to step outside to put some scraps in the compost!

We keep a compost bucket just outside the back door, and it hasn’t had its usual emptying this weekend.

Not a lot better here either in terms of temperature. Most of the snow has fallen to the east of Wellington and my area but we are in for another front to cross later today and people closer to my home are reporting hail showers. It looks threatening to the south while the sun shines on without any warmth. Snuggle up warm everyone in NZ:-)

It’s about four degrees outside. I’m pleased to be snug at home and not needing to drive anywhere. Keep warm Lynley!

Instead of pruning my roses I was confined to quarters – and finished marking 78 exam papers. Skipper and Cosmo are pleased to be beside the fire.

I think we were all pleased to be near a heat source. Ziggy spent the afternoon on my lap while I read.

Hello, Bea. Definitely separate hemispheres. We’ll have our turn of summer before too long.
