Set in America, with an Italian flavour and a hint of New Zealand, this is a story of love, loss, and family. A wedding and a future are suddenly taken away, and Frankie needs time out to deal with all the repercussions. She escapes to a cabin in a forest, but others follow, and she is obliged to face some unpalatable facts, while finding comfort in new friendships. Food is an integral part of the story and the book features several recipes.
I’d never heard of this author, but a cousin alerted me to the fact that she’s New Zealand born, and that names associated with book matched some on our family tree. An e-mail inquiry indicated the names are coincidence and Hannah Tunnicliffe is not a relation. I ordered the book anyway, and am glad I did.
“She isn’t on my family tree
but her book gets thumbs up from me.”
