When I planted basil and lettuces I carefully covered them with chicken wire to stop the birds sneaking in and digging them up.
Bentley decided that nice bare earth was a good place to snooze, and snuck in under the wire. I guess he’s helping to keep the birds away.
“I thought I’d keep the birds away
now it seems Bentley’s there to stay.”
Well done Bentley. A warm spot in the garden is a cat’s delight. I hope he is doing well?

He recently had his 16th birthday, and is definitely looking elderly. However, he still enjoys cuddles and sleeping in the sunshine.

I have to put protection down for my lettuces to stop cats lying on them and digging up LOL

I thought I only had to protect them from birds. Bentley’s just sleeping there. I’m sure he has no plans to dig anything up (?).

Only when digging a toilet in that freshly dug over soil, or maybe my cats are just special 😊

Bentley has other discreet areas he prefers. Luckily they don’t currently include the lettuce patch.

I suspect this helps him to feel safe.

Maybe. It was only one day that he slept there, and he doesn’t seem to have gone back.
