The treasured Trinity Church on the corner of Manchester and Worcester Streets has gained an adornment.
The mural, by artist Mike Hewson, references the neighbouring building, and gives a sense of hope to the church.
This Mounfort-designed building is the oldest stone church in Christchurch, and plans are under way for its restoration. Fingers crossed!
“One day this church will rise again
although it’s not quite certain when.”
That’s good to see.

Nice sign of hope but it must be tough living with these reminders of the earthquake day in and day out.

I sometimes wonder whether it’s healthy for me to walk to work each day, when there seem to be so few positive signs on my way.

I’m sorry – from following Gallivanta too I’ve come to realize how hard it is to deal with the devastation and insecurity that comes from these earthquakes. My best to you.
