I enjoy any mystery by Kerry Greenwood, and this latest Phryne Fisher story is no exception. All the usual characters are there, together with a musical theme.
I’m also enjoying the television series of “Miss Fisher’s Mysteries” although there are people missing, namely Lin Chung and Ruth. I can see that it makes a good series to have Jack Robinson as the love interest, but I miss Lin Chung and the Chinese dimension.
Kerry’s evocation of Melbourne between the wars is always impressive. In this latest novel she includes a glossary of terms used and a bibliography. It’s almost like ‘The making of…’ the book. The 20th Phryne Fisher mystery is a must for any of her many fans.
“She is well-kitted, bright, and shiny
my favourite Oz detective, Phryne.”
Have you read all 20 of the books?

I believe so – over a number of years. I’ve certainly read all the ones that Chch Libraries have. Have you read them?

Not a one. I was watching the TV series but have missed the last couple of episodes.

The books have so much more than the TV stories. I would warmly recommend them, and suggest you start at the beginning with ‘Cocaine Blues’.
