On New Brighton Road, between Locksley Avenue and Fleete Street, dozens of homes have been demolished. CERA have now planted grass in the area, and it’s starting to look quite park-like.
Thank goodness they’ve left some mature trees. I hope that once the grass is established they will remove the fence and encourage people to use the area for recreation.
“So sad these homes have had to go
with just some trees left here to grow.”
It must be cheering to see these green areas, despite the reason for them

They look so much better than the bare bulldozed spaces. I’m just waiting to see what they do with the Avon Loop.

When I read your title Ruth I envisaged people coming with a plant each to contribute to the development of a park. Perhaps the previous homeowners will enjoy coming back to a relaxing green space.
