Greening the Rubble is planning to make a native wetland garden on the corner of Armagh and Madras Streets.
There’s running water from a bore, and in pre-European days there was a stream close by. This will be a great addition to the central city’s eastern frame.
“With native plants this land will show
how it might have looked long ago,”
What a fine idea to return to “nature”. I wonder if Pukekos and ducks will find their way to the Wetland once established.

I’m sure ducks will quickly find their way there. Pukeko as well would be wonderful.

A surpirse to find a natural bore that will provide a wetland in a usually dry city

It’s not so long since the city was all a swamp.

What a good plan. Wetlands are so important, and it sounds as if this one will be self-sustaining.

It will be most interesting to see how it develops.

It’s already looking suitably wet 🙂

It’s been like that for weeks, and I had thought it was a problem with drainage.
