I’ve been to Make Cafe. Situated on Riccarton Road, opposite Bush Inn, this is much more than a cafe. One room is a shop selling everything you need for craft work, with couches where you can browse magazines while sipping your coffee. In another they hold all kinds of crafty workshops. and the third room is the main cafe. It’s a great idea and obviously popular.
They serve the most divine orange-flavoured hot chocolate – perfect for a jaffa addict like me. The table markers are brightly coloured knitted flags, on knitting needles, stuck into large cotton reels – a lovely touch. The cafe’s open seven days, 9am to 4pm, until 5pm on Saturdays, and until 9pm on Thursdays. Check it out when you’re down that way. There’s plenty of parking at the back of the building. Just turn left into Auburn Avenue.
“I really liked this Cafe Make
an ideal spot for tea and cake.”
Sounds like a great place to go.
