This large work by Miranda Parkes is situated at Friendship Corner, where I often have my lunch.
It’s a lovely bright billboard-type screen, and the idea is to inject some colour into the changing city environment. From a distance it looks like solid colour, but as you get closer it becomes transparent. A similar screen was to have been erected on the corner of Colombo and Armagh Streets, but the collapse of the Copthorne Hotel means another site must be found. Do you know if the sister screen’s gone up yet?
“I like this brilliant splash of green
colouring up our city scene.”
Another green in the spring palette to enjoy.

It’s very cheerful, and eye-catching.

Yes, it does seem like the new green foliage on the trees.

From the Scape7 programme it appears the other one may be pink. I’ll keep my eye out for it.

It looks like just the thing to celebrate spring colour.

Isn’t it just? It’s particularly cheering when the day is dull.
