Today’s been a restful catch-up day. I’ve done washing, downloaded photos, blogged, and charged my many electrical devices – toothbrush, camera, tablet, and cellphone.
At midday we walked into town, past Almshouses, built in 1698.
Through the Market Square with its wonderful old buildings…
to the Half Moon Pub, which was built in 1748 and offers real ales and ciders. We had a tapas-style lunch. Tapas is popular in England and we’ve had several meals of this type, both Spanish and British. We sat out on the back patio, where there were lots of flowers.
The pub cat joined us and seemed a little disappointed that there was no meat among our tapas selections.
Afterwards we stolled slowly home, collecting provisions for dinner on the way. Tomorrow we plan to visit London again, and on Thursday we head for home.
“It’s good to have a catch up day
and meet a cat along the way.”
