Toadstool Time

Toadstools pop up unexpectedly at this time of year.  After heavy rain last week two friends told me that they had red toadstools with white spots (the kind you find in children’s books) appear in their gardens.  I looked hopefully in my garden, but the only ones we have are these two little pottery toadstools:
