Everyone everywhere is asked to place flowers in road cones in honour of today’s earthquake anniversary. The purpose is to be a reflection to the past, and a positive wish for the future.
As I was walking home yesterday I saw flowers on an abandoned section and liberated them. They looked good stuck in road cones.
I found more unwanted flowers further along and picked those too, then walked two whole blocks without seeing a single cone – amazing! As I neared home I spied cones on the bridge, so my second lot of flowers went there. If you can’t find a cone it’s suggested you attached flowers to fences or lamp posts.

shows Christchurch that we’re not alone.”
