The Spring Equinox is a time of poise and balance, but it’s hard for anyone in Christchurch to feel balanced just now, when our whole education system has been shaken.
Barbara Walker says of the Equinox: “From this day forward, light will prevail over darkness….. We embrace the light. We find the light within ourselves.”
This is part of a verse I wrote at our Spring Equinox ritual:
“Our weary city seems to be
chock full of sad uncertainty.
But all around us we can see
the signs of nature breaking free.
The trees are full of blossoms and
sweet smells of spring pervade the land.
There’s hope ahead – we can create,
imagine, build, and innovate.”
