I was a little later going for the paper this morning, and the traffic in Bealey Avenue was diabolical. Hardly anything going west, but there were two lanes at a standstill going east, and a third lane whizzing by. I needed to go down to the postbox, so took the risk of crossing in the middle of the block, but made sure I used the pedestrian crossing on the way back. Later I learned there’d been a breakdown of heavy equipment in Fitzgerald Avenue, so maybe that was the cause of the congestion. Or maybe it’s like that at 7.15 every morning.
At almost 9am I told Stephen ‘Goodbye, I’m off to work now’, and headed into my ‘office’. The Refugee Cat followed and insisted on sitting on my knee. That never happened in Community House.
