Today’s been a full-on working day. I’m still sorting out backup files, and reluctantly learning to use Word 2007 which in my opinion is not nearly as user-friendly as 2003. I made sure I had a half hour lunch break and sat outside in warm sunshine.
There were phone calls and one meeting, so I didn’t have time to feel lonely, even though Stephen was the only volunteer staff member on duty today. (He answered the phone while I went to my meeting). I wonder how long it will be before we have a ‘proper’ office again.
“I don’t have far to go to work.
the outdoor lunchroom is my perk.”
What a lovely lunchroom! And a volunteer who makes lunch! There ARE upsides to all this upheaval! lol
Are you able to access the office at all yet to retrieve things you may need to make it easier?

Judy, we have no idea when we may be able to access the office to retrieve things – could be months. By that time I’ll probably have done so much restoring and reconstructing I won’t want half the things I’m longing for now.

Hello Ruth – Yesterday we had our get together for Christchurch people who are now in New Plymouth. I meet some tremendous people who have come with their children to find some quiet time with family. All have stories to tell that obviously will take time to recover from. Just got to love the children though as one young lad told me it was great to be in New Plymouth because if people knew you were from Christchurch they gave you ‘neat free stuff’. Keep up the great work. Heather

What a lovely photo of you in your outside lunch room. It gladdened my heart to see it. Our choir is planning a lunchtime informal sing in the Milford mall to raise money for the Christchurch women’s refuge. Everywhere I go I see signs of support: people wearing the I love Ch Ch tee-shirts, and fund-raising efforts of all kinds. The whole country is with you still.
