When we were in Paris we were intrigued to find that all the crepe shops offered Nutella as a crepe filling. We’d never tasted it, so when I saw it recently in our local supermarket I bought some to try. It’s a soft spread, pleasant on crackers for morning tea. Apparently it’s mainly hazel nuts, but it tastes like chocolate. It was created in Italy in the 1940’s when cocoa was in short supply because of World War II rationing. Using hazel nuts helped to eke out the cocoa.
“I could have had it in a crepe
This chocolate in a different shape.”
I'd love to get your thoughts about this post.
