This sandy edifice was the outcome of a family’s seaside labours.
Cookie Time buckets made ideal moulds and the youngsters must have felt proud of their creation. Possibly not quite up to the standard of last week’s sand sculpture competition, but satisfying none the less.
“There’s budding sculptors on the shore
where building skills are to the fore.”

It just needs a flag in the centre
I used to love building castles, but nowadays they do sculptures on the sand.. where is the water in the moat! oh to go to a sandy beach to do this again… memories.. I was bought up in London, or nearest sandy beaches were at West Wittering, a long drive, but worth it, as Brighton Beach the nearest beach was bit stones!
So many sandcastles are popping up on our beaches too. I love to see them.
We always had moats around our sandcastles, and I definitely think a flag is needed – maybe they’ll add these items next time.
