Cafe Valentino is once again a firm favourite. On Thursday evening it was full and noisy. No need for background music here – you wouldn’t hear it above the sound of people talking. On an evening when the temperature reached 30 degrees the restaurant was pleasant with air continually circulating. We decided it had to come from the large black pipe in the centre of the ceiling.

I’m not sure why the photo’s come out so blue. It’s my photography, not the decor. They’d just run out of cider, so I had a glass of Rose, and lots of water. I chose fish and was told I was lucky to get the last one. We were relieved that they still had Tiramisu left for our dessert. This cafe well deserves its popularity.

Pleasant relief from the heat makes eating much more pleasurable. I think your blue “filter” is rather fitting Ruth. Photography is full of surprises at times.
The blue definitely has a cool look. Today we’ve had welcome rain, but it’s also been very humid in the office.
