We’ve missed Bailies Bar at Warner’s Hotel which used to be the venue for much socialising. Sadly the building was a victim of the earthquakes. A new Bailies Bar has just opened in the Edgeware Village, and all the memorabilia from the old Bailies is there.
We’ve shifted our Sunday afternoon session to the new Bailies, because Pomeroy’s has now become so popular and noisy that it’s no longer pleasant. Bailies is already proving popular – if that becomes noisy too I’m not sure where we’ll go. It was good to meet a number of old Bailies friends again.
“We’re pleased to see new Bailies Bar
although its distance is more far.”

I thought it wouldn’t take long for you two to find it
Be nice to see all the memorabilia again.
Maybe we’ll meet there late one Sunday afternoon?
I’ve lived in Christchurch for nearly 17 years, and I only stepped into Bailies in the Square twice: once with my Mom and brother on their visit to New Zealand, and once in December 2010 before friends, Noel and I went to see The Rocky Horror Show. We’ll have to check it out again, and maybe we’ll see you there!
It’s definitely worth checking out, Scott.
