“They” have now opened another block of Manchester Street, between Armagh and Gloucester Streets – although it’s one way only.
As a walker, I can go the other way, and this means I can walk home along the river’s Poplar Crescent. It’s great to have another small portion of the city liberated. There’s news that pedestrian access to Victoria Square will be open from today too – Hooray!
“I’m pleased they’ve opened up some more,
increasing our free corridor.”

How encouraging it must be to have more options opening up, Ruth. So glad to hear of these ‘liberations’.
It feels like such a victory every time we gain access to a new area.
Your pleasure at these gains shines through your posts Ruth. The trees still standing after all the upheaval are a welcome sign.
It seems trees have withstood the earthquakes well in many places. The worry is some may be cut down to expedite the demolitions and moving of houses.
