Ducks on the Avon
“Dear God,
Give us a flood of water, let it rain tomorrow and always.
Give us plenty of little slugs and other luscious things to eat.
Protect all folk who quack and everyone who knows how to swim.

I like this Duck Prayer which is inscribed at an entrance to the Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden in Hong Kong.

What a lovely Duck Prayer. There is plenty of rain and water here now for them Ruth.
My Dad used to sing “Be kind to your web-footed friends,
For the duck may be somebody’s mother”
The ducks will be praying right now with it being duck shooting season. Many do know where to seek protection from the guns.
OG, I remember that song too. When I went to take the photo yesterday I had to walk a little way to find any ducks. I think they’re missing the tourists who used to feed them frequently around this area.
