Scant Security

Filed under: Central Christchurch — realruth @ 8:43 pm

At 8.30 a.m. I was waiting outside the Postshop to make a deposit in my TSB Bank account.  I really appreciate the fact that Postshops are agents for my bank, and that they are open early so I can do my banking on the way to work.

By 8.32 there was another woman waiting as well, and no sign of the shop opening so I knocked on the door, and eventually a staff member came to open it.

I was appalled when she told me she is left on her own until 9.00 a.m. and had considered not opening at all.  Apparently this is a common occurrence.  She thought the manager might have turned up but he hadn’t.  This is BANK for goodness sake.  How can they leave one person to open up on her own?
