I was 43 when I had my ears pierced and, as you say, Clip or screw earrings are painful, but I'd just never had the courage. Then my daughter, bless her, who was then 14 gave me a voucher to have my ears pierced for my birthday,she was so pleased with herself so I couldn't let her down and am I pleased about that, I have had some really lovely earrings over the years - and no pain!
