Today really feels like spring. Just a gentle breeze, blue skies, and lots of flowers. I know there’s still a possibility of frosts (or even snow), but today that chance seems very remote. I’ve even planted a few tomato plants, although I know it’s much too early. I saw some Sweet 100’s for sale and couldn’t resist them.
Today I found the first bluebell in the Cottage garden.
There’s hosts of golden daffodils down the street.

The willows by the river have got their spring colour.

And the tiny nectarine tree at the north west corner of the Cottage is blossoming bravely.
“Spring is sprung, the sun is riz
I know where the birdies is
They’re building nests in all the trees
Preparing for maternities”
I haven’t been around here much lately, but it’s nice to see spring returning over there. In Peterborough, the cool of autumn is definitely in the air, and I’m hoping the leaves will be nice and obligingly colourful this year.

so lovely to see spring arrive Ruth. That nectarine tree looks like a cherry or an apple, both trees that bloom in northern California in February, the beginning of our spring.
